Today, Youth and Society (YAS) had a pivotal engagement meeting with the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC). This wasn’t just any meeting – it was a critical step in our journey towards achieving MEC accreditation and certification, reinforcing our commitment to transparency and integrity in our operations.

Purpose & Objectives: We shared our mission, vision, and key initiatives aimed at enhancing good governance, human rights, and youth empowerment in Malawi. MEC emphasized the importance of our partnership in fostering accountability and readiness for electoral processes.
Due Diligence Process: MEC conducted a thorough review of our organisation and project effectiveness. This rigorous screening ensures that YAS meets the highest standards of transparency and operational integrity.
Collaborative Opportunities: We explored potential collaborations, particularly in voter education and youth participation in elections. Addressing challenges and proposing solutions was a key part of the discussion, paving the way for a smoother partnership.
