Today, Youth and Society (YAS) had the honor of convening a dynamic round table presentation meeting with our esteemed finance partner, UNDP. Together, we embarked on a journey to engage, learn, and support the implementation of our project “Democracy in young hands- bolstering meaningful youth participation and representation in our 2025.”
During the session, we delved deep into the progress of our ongoing project, assessing how it’s fairing and discussing the flexibility needed to rethink and adjust implementation strategies. It was a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring that our initiatives make the intended impact and align with the aspirations of Malawi’s youth.
The dialogue was rich with insights and ideas, as we exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities in promoting youth democracy. From enhancing access to education and civic engagement to advocating for policy reforms, we explored various avenues that intend to empower young people and amplify their voices in the democratic process.
We also had the privilege of sharing what we have learned about the initiatives and plans of other stakeholders in the field. This exchange of knowledge and experiences was invaluable, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and synergies to advance our shared goals.
As we move forward, YAS remain committed to championing the cause of youth participation in democracy. Together with our partners and stakeholders, we will continue to work tirelessly to create an inclusive and participatory democracy that truly represents the voices of all Malawians.
