Our Area Of Focus
At Youth Decide Campaign Malawi (YDC), our focus is on empowering the youth to lead and shape the future of our nation. We concentrate our efforts on three critical areas: economic empowerment, human rights advocacy, and democratic governance. Through these pillars, we aim to build a movement that champions the rights of young people, fosters economic opportunities, and strengthens democratic processes. Our initiatives are designed to create lasting impact and ensure that the voices of Malawi’s youth are heard and respected at every level of society.
- Develop a ‘National Youth Manifesto’ (Youth Agenda) for Malawi covering the period 2019 to 2024; and monitor its implementation.
- Advocate for peaceful elections and political tolerance with focus on youth
- Increased youth representation in decision making structures: the National Assembly, Local Government Councils and local governance structures, political party structures.
- Enhanced capacity of youth CSOs, NGOs, and ordinary youth to effectively engage and hold duty-bearers accountable for democratic governance and development.
- • Enhance peaceful and constructive dialogue between youth and elected duty bearers in addressing issues affecting youth
